History: Named After the river Pench, the Pench National Park was declared as Wildlife Sanctuary in 1977 and as national park in 1983. In 1992, the Pench National park became the 19th Tiger reserve of country. Eventually in 2002, the name of the national park was changed to Indira Priyadarshini Pench National Park.
» Flora & Fauna: The Pench National Park is the birth place of diverse of Flora and Fauna species. Flora - There are about 1200 species of Plants in the park. How to reach from Nagpur: First you need to go to Khawasa that is 80 km from Nagpur and from there Turia gate of the Pench national park is just 12 km. Nagpur is well connected by all Road, Rail and Air to Pench.
Park Timings: The Park is open from October 16th to June 30th and closed during the rainy seasons that is July - Sept. The best time to visit this park is during summer months, as this time, almost all the animals come out in search of waterholes.
